Zoooooo Lights!

James tries to save up some vacation time each year so he can take time off at Christmas. Yesterday was his last day at work, so we celebrated by meeting him "in town" for some supper and then heading to Zoo Lights!

It is so cool. They cover everything within a certain area of the zoo with Christmas lights and invite everyone in (for a price - or not, if you're members, which we are!) during the evenings for a few weeks at the end of the year.

The J-bird was enchanted.

He wanted to touch all the lights. He got the opportunity to touch a lot of them as we waited in line to ride the train.

The only good part about waiting in the ridiculously long line was that it wrapped around near this, which spins slowly in a circle and is very fun to watch.

Did I mention that it was a long line? We waited for probably 45 minutes (bleh). I wouldn't recommend it, as the ride itself is only so-so, but to my three year old...

It was awesome.

Which made it worth it.

After the train, we tooled around, looking at the loveliness.

See? Loveliness.

Someone was very excited. And also up way past his bedtime.

Miss V seemed to take it all in.

A fun night!

And now, back to the gingerbread. The gingerbread that never ends. I mean, yay! Gingerbread!! ;)
