Civic Engagement

This year, when it was time to "spring forward" for Daylight Savings, the J-bird was NOT amused. James and I replied that if he was really that displeased, he was welcome to write a letter to his Congressperson, so he did. He said that his dad had just explained Daylight Savings Time and that he didn't like it. He asked her to please change it. Then he drew a picture. We addressed the envelope together, and then he dropped it in the mail.

This week, he received a letter in return!

The Congresswoman thanked him for his note and outlined the history of Daylight Savings Time. Then she said that, while she's not aware of any upcoming votes to abolish Daylight Savings, if one should happen to come up, she'd certainly consider voting his way.

He was delighted to hear it.
