On The Auction Block

Our beloved church holds an annual charity auction that is a ton of fun. This year, for the second time, I was asked to head up decorating for the event. It's a lot of work, but it's a great artistic outlet, and I had a fantastic team to work with when it came time to put it all together. The theme of this year's auction was "It's a Small World", so I painted several old globes, which were used as centerpieces and then auctioned off, put up tons of maps and postcards, and borrowed a gorgeous collection of international flags to decorate our Fellowship Hall. Add candles and twinkle lights for atmosphere, and boom, baby - you've got decor. :)

The auction was a huge success. The joint was packed, the band was fantastic, the food was delicious, and we raised lots of money for several benevolences and for our church. I so enjoy being part of events like this, because everyone comes together to make it happen. The spirit in the place was just joy. It was really great.

This table was filled with amazing desserts. Not kidding. Amazing.
